Research completed at Oglala Lakota College revealed important details about biology, geology and hydrology resource management in South Dakota.
The Department of Math, Science and Technology at the College maintains active programs engaging student interns and faculty in reservation-based research. These projects enable undergraduate students to gain first-hand experience solving the ever-increasing resource needs and challenges of the Oglala Lakota people, while pursuing broader scientific challenges and personal interests.
Nothing to report at this time concerning external internships. Please check back later

There are still hundreds of exciting NASA internship and fellowship opportunities at the NASA Centers! Since the deadline to apply online for all NASA Summer Internship opportunities is February 1, 2012, interested students should be well into the application process on the SOLAR System. With our collective support and gentle prodding, every interested student should have their completed applications in well before the deadline.
As AIHEC’s new OSSI specialist, I will be available to assist any student experiencing difficulties or with any question whatsoever about the SOLAR application process via webinar Monday through Friday next week from 1pm-3pm EST, beginning this Friday, January 6th. Depending upon the level of participation, I will continue the webinars every weekday through the deadline. If participation is low next week, we can adjust both the timing and the daily schedule to meet the needs of the students and you, the STEM faculty.
Please continue to encourage your students to consider NASA internships, and let them know about the webinar series this month! For more information on NASA internships and the SOLAR System, or if you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact me, AIHEC’s OSSI outreach coordinator Alex Grandon, at agrandon@aihec.org and visit https://intern.nasa.gov/.
Thank you for your attention this afternoon,
